Yup. We're going all rebel crafter today.
Oh. And since we're breaking the crafting rules, let's ditch the traditional red and white colors for hyper-colorful rainbow colors instead.
That's right. Living on the wild side.

Let's make some rainbow Danish hearts!
To make these rainbow Danish hearts, first print out thisDanish Heart Coloring Template.
Then, grab your favorite coloring tools and color away! (We used markers and Kwik Stix Solid Tempera paints.)
Then, cut everything out.
Now it's time to weave some Danish hearts!
Grab two halves.
Take one strip nearest to the heart's middle (in this case I took green) and weave it in an alternating pattern through the other strips. (It's over the yellow strip, under the orange strip, and over the red strip. The blue and purple stips just got pulled along this round.)
Then, take the strip next to the first strip woven (this case blue) and weave it through in an alternating pattern. (The blue strip is under the yellow, over the orange, under the red.)
Then, weave the remaining strip (purple) in an alternative pattern. (It should be over the yellow, under the orange, and over the red strip.) I forgot to take this photo! Sorry! But here's a shot of the completed heart woven in the opposite pattern.)
Tape the tabs down in back.
Hope you enjoy this lovely heart themed activity too!
