We Love Jellyfish crafts!
Ok, before I share how we made these jellyfish, here are some more jellyfish crafts here in case you're looking:
Alright. Let's get making! Here are the materials needed.Materials Needed:
(I'm putting in Amazon links, but I'll bet your local 99cent/dollar store has most of these items)
- Clear hanging cord (Or Yarn would be great too)
- Plastic bowl
- Loofa
- Curling Ribbon
- Plastic Table Cloth
- Drill
- Skate Wheel Shavings (Strange, I know. But they curl link tentacles. We got ours from our local scrap store)
- Hot Glue Gun (AKA My BFF when it comes to crafting)
Let's Make some Gorgeous Jellyfish!
(Note: I didn't take photos while making the jellyfish. So I'll try my best to explain what we did.)
1. Cut the rope off the loofa and stretch the colorful mesh out. You'll get a super long tube. Then, string curling ribbon through to give it shine.
2. Drill some holes in the bottom of your plastic bowl. String your clear hanging cord through to create a hanging loop on top and tie on your loofa strips below.
3. Add more frilly tentacles by gluing on long strips of curling ribbon to the sides of the bowl.
To make the super curly tentacles, cut out strips of plastic table cloth. Then, use your hands to stretch them slightly back and forth. You'll get a neat rippled effect.
We also tied on some skate shavings to the loofa bits in the middle. They added more ripples. (But that's totally optional if you can't find them where you are.)
And that's all!
Aren't these jellyfish just beautiful? Trim the tentacles to a length that you like and hang up your new, gorgeous sea life decorations!
