Is your child a Pokemon lover too?
When I approached my preschooler with the idea of giving out Pokemon-themed cards for Valentine's day, he was totally on board.
At first, I was tempted to just go online and purchase some of these cute Pokemon Valentine's Day themed toys for his classmates...
- Packs of pre-assembled Pokemon Cards
- Pokemon wristbands
- Pokemon vinyl stickers
- Pokemon Puffy Stickers
- Pokemon bath bombs
They were all super cute... but then I remembered the extraordinary number of Pokemon cards that we have just floating around our house. Some are favorites and others are just unloved.
So, my preschooler and I agreed that we could let our less-loved cards go to new homes. (My son actually really loved the idea and had fun choosing which special card to give to which special friend.)
Here's what we did:
I whipped up this printable.
We printed a whole bunch out and my son colored in all the Pokeballs. Then, we cut them out and taped them using washi tape to our Pokemon cards.
(We chose washi tape so that kids could remove our note and still leave the Pokemon card intact.)
And that's it! Kids can just lift up our note to reveal which Pokemon card they got.
This was such a super easy (and affordable) Valentine's day craft that both my preschooler and I enjoyed immensely. If you have a Pokemon lover at home (and you're on a budget or enjoy upcycling/recycling things), then this would be a great one for you!
Happy crafting, friends!
