Oooh! And it's spring themed! Spring.... glorious spring....
Not sure if you can tell, but the black outlined tulip stands up against the aluminum foil. Yup, it's my faux leading. Nice, right? Keep reading to see how we made these aluminum foil and cellophane stained glass panels.
Materials to Make Faux Stained Glass Panels:
- Cereal Box
- Pen
- Scissors
- Aluminum foil
- Mod Podge
- Sponge Brush
- Cellophane
- Tacky Glue
- Tape
- Black Paint
- Paint brushes
- Paper Towel
- Q-tip
How to Make Faux Stained Glass Windows:
1. Cut out a rectangular piece of cereal box.2. Doodle an image on it.
3. Trace your doodle with tacky glue. Let the glue dry.
4. Cover your entire image with Mod Podge.
5. Carefully smooth a piece of aluminum foil over your image. To ensure that you don't rip your aluminum foil, place a piece of paper towel on top of the aluminum foil and carefully smooth everything down with your hands.
6. To make your glue leading stand out even more, use a Q-tip to carefully press down the aluminum foil around the raised image. (It's ok if it rips. You're just going to cover it with cellophane anyway!)
7. Fold over and tape down your excess aluminum foil.
8. Glue on your piece of cellophane.
(To make the craft a bit more interesting, I cut my cellophane into flower and leaf shapes.)
9. After you glue all the cellophane on, let everything dry. Then, trace over your raised image with black paint to create faux leading.
Happy crafting!
