DIY Peeps Play Dough
I found the original recipe from Tip Toe Fairy. The dough is fun to make, edible (although yuck, I still think it tastes way too sweet), and will certainly wow any kids at your Easter gathering. Keep reading to see how we made our Peeps Play Dough!
Ingredients to Make Peeps Play Dough
(to see exact amounts of each, check out Tip Toe Fairy's original Marshmallow Peeps Play Dough Recipe)- Fresh Peeps from unopened package
- Canola oil
- Corn starch
Steps to Make Peeps Play Dough
1. Open your Peeps. (Make sure you use fresh Peeps! Otherwise the dough won't be as nice.)2. Place your Peeps in a microwaveable bowl and microwave it for 30 seconds. (Manically laugh as the Peeps expand and become poofy.)
3. Add in your oil and about 3/4 C of cornstarch. Use your hands and knead everything together until you get a dough-like consistency.
And that's it!
Here's a photo of Chuck hacking it up with his scissors and knife.
(He too didn't like the way they tasted. But he seemed to really enjoy cutting them up.)
Just note, our Peeps Play dough was a one time use dough. It started hardening after we played with it for a bit. Tip Toe Fairy noted that hers lasted for a couple of days, but ours started hardening after about half an hour.
Happy Peeps Play Dough Making!
