Let's get started!
Materials Needed to Make a DIY Pizza Gift Box
- Envelope (I got a used one from the office)
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Eraser (Make sure to use a good one! Mine was not so good...and well... you'll see what happened..)
- Ruler
- Paper (I used this kind because it's thin and has lovely colors, but you could also just use markers too!)
- Glue stick
- Hole Puncher
- Ribbon (I used this kind that was leftover from Chuck's birthday balloons)
- Tissue Paper
Let's get making!
1. Fold your large envelope like the photo.
2. Measure out and mark the same length (I chose 6 inches) on both sides of the envelope and draw a straight line across. (Note: Mark your envelope lightly. I marked mine a bit too heavily and then used a bad eraser to remove the line later...which left a smudge. Boo. So moral of the story- mark lightly and use a good eraser.)
3. (This step is hard to explain, but the photo should help.) Measure another longer line exactly between both sides. Draw a point there. Then, trace out a triangle on top of your previously marked line. Cut on the triangle's sides. (The top triangle will help to close your pizza box.)
4. Now it's time to decorate all four sides of your container! Trace your pizza box onto a piece of paper to make the cheese. Cut out 4 identical "pieces of cheese."
5. Use your glue stick to glue your "cheese" onto all four sides of your gift box. Make sure to get all those corners down! (Note: If you're doing this with younger children, you could just opt out of gluing and use markers to decorate the container instead.)
6. Cut out additional toppings and glue those on. (Yum, pepperoni!)
7. Punch holes in the top corners of your box. Then, open the box up, pop in your gift, fill the box with tissue paper, and tie everything together.
Om nom nom. I want to eat this pizza package.
Tres cute and unique, right? I think any person would be delighted to receive this cheesy gift!
