Materials Needed:
- Apple Barrel Craft Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Oatmeal container
- Corrugated Cardboard
- Scissors
- Large Popsicle Stick
- Hot Glue
- Mod Podge
- Sponge Brush
- Packing Tape
- Brown Craft Paper (optional)
Let's make ourselves a Piranha Plant Valentine Card box!
2. Draw your piranha plant on a piece of cardboard. Make sure you design it so that the leaves poke out the top of the oatmeal box. Cut it out. (Optional: If you want to include a blue background, cut out a rectangular piece of cardboard that's taller than your plant and wider than your oatmeal box.)
3. Paint your cardboard and oatmeal box. Once your paint dries, use a sponge brush to apply Mod Podge. This will protect your paint job. (Note: My oatmeal box had a really waxy surface that ended up being difficult to paint. So I hot glued a piece of brown craft paper around it first and then painted that.)
5. Tape your plant stem into your oatmeal container.
This would be a great Valentine Card Box for a kid that isn't really into the traditional hearts and flowers scene. It's pretty easy to make, so you could even complete it in one night!
