Ooh la la! Today I'm going to share a fun, tasty, and creative CANDY CRAFT! Do you have
a stash of candy lying around? I'm not a big candy addict... but I've been known to chow down on a few chocolates and gummy candies this time of year. Yurp. But can you blame me? Chocolates are delicious and gummy candies are uber fun. (Who doesn't dig their bright, happy colors?) Well, if you have a stash of gummy candies lying around, here's a fun (and tasty) kids STEAM activity!

Candy Maze Materials
- Gummy candies and round hard candy
- Tooth picks
- Scissors
- Styrofoam Tray (I asked my butcher for a clean one, but you could also buy styrofoam trays here)
Let’s make a candy maze!
First, lay your
candy out to create a maze design. Make
sure your hard round candy can easily roll through the maze.
(Sadly, many gummy worms were devoured in the design process. But they sacrificed their lives for science!)
Once you’re
satisfied with candy placement, use toothpicks to secure everything in
place.
Then, flip over
your Styrofoam tray. Trim off all the
excess toothpick parts.
:
Place your
round candies on the board and play! (If
your candy gets caught in certain parts, adjust your maze accordingly.)
(By the way, this post was taken from my "never before published archives," so my son is super young. Wow. Time certainly flies!)
Wouldn’t
this be a great game to design, make, and play with the kids? It would definitely be a hit at parties and play dates! Of course, once
everyone’s done playing their games, just take the candy off and eat
it!
