Let's Make Clay Dream Catchers

Here's a lovely clay craft to make with the kids.  Lately my son has been having nightmares at night.  We've been trying lots of different ways to help him through it.  Since we've been doing a lot of clay crafts together, I made him this clay dream catcher to help him have sweet dreams at night.

To make these, I grabbed some Sculpey Clay and cut out a circle shape.  (I did this free hand with lids, but circular cookie cutters would have helped.)

Then, I poked some holes in the clay using a skewer.  (You could use anything, but make sure the holes are big enough for your string!)

Then, we baked the sculpey clay according to the packaging.

Then, I grabbed string and strung silver thread through all the holes.  I also added some beads to represent the sweet dreams caught.

And then tied beads and letter beads to the bottom.

This clay dream catcher is now hanging on the wall in my son's room.   Let me know if you try making this craft with your kiddos too!

And if you liked this project, you might like these woven CD dream catchers too or, these picture books:

Happy making, friends!
