To make this lovely star ornament, I printed out the star template from our STEAM Kids Christmas Coloring Book. (For purchase here.) Then, my son and I got to work doodling and coloring in designs.
In case you're wondering, we used regular markers, Sharpie markers, and some fine drawing pens. But our current favorite supplies are these gold Sharpie markers. They are seriously amazing and add a pop of glam sparkle to our designs!
Once we finished doodling and coloring, we followed the directions and cut the star out...
folded it against a ruler (for nice clean folds)...
(In case you're wondering, my 5 year old helped me to decorate one side, but I did the cutting, folding, and taping. It was a bit too difficult for him to do. So in case your kids are younger too, you can probably just forgo the taping and cut off the tabs to create one sided 3D stars.)
Gorgeous, right?
Couple this activity with these artsy paper bag stars, fun snowflake designs, Paper Tube Wreaths, or 3D Paper Plate Trees and you're all set for some fun, family-oriented holiday crafting!
And definitely check out our new STEAM Kids Books for more yearlong Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math Activities!
Happy making, friends!
