Today's post was inspired by the book My Color is Rainbow. It's written by my friend Agnes, the blogger behind the awesome site Hello, Wonderful. She sent me a book to review and I LOVED IT. The illustrations are cheerful and modern. And the story reminds kids to embrace all the characteristics that make them special!
So if you have a chance, definitely check this book.
Let's Make a Rainbow Notebook:
This notebook is seriously so easy to make, you'll have a whole bunch within minutes!
First, grab red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple construction paper. Then, cut the sheets in half (to make a small notebook. Or, just use the whole sheet to make a large rainbow notebook.)
Fold the paper in half.
Keep the papers folded. Place the sheets in rainbow color order so that red is on the bottom and purple is on the top. (That's how the rainbow looks in the book.)
Now you're going to trim the pieces of paper so that the red sheets are slightly longer than the orange sheets, which are slightly longer than the yellow, etc...
(You should get a cascading rainbow effect like this.)
Fold a white paper in half. Wrap it over your stack of papers. Staple the white cover over your other sheets. Then, trim the white cover paper so that it looks like this...
Draw a rainbow. Then, cut around it to create a rainbow notebook!
Hooray! Hope making these notebooks adds a bit of happy color to your winter season.
