- Scissors
- Pencil
- Markers (We used permanent markers)
Let's Cut out Some Cute Halloween Kirigami!
For this design, I folded a sheet of origami paper as if I was cutting out a snowflake. (If you're not sure how to do that, or you only have rectangular paper, check out my tutorial here.)
Then, I cut out this design. (I made sure to leave both sides of the pumpkin connected.)
Alright, and then next design is the Dia De Los Muertos/ Skulls kirigami design:
Here's how I cut out this design...
(Many apologies that the photo is kind of blurry! I just snapped these super quickly without checking when my kids were sleeping.)
Oh! And if you have younger kids, feel free to eliminate the teeth part. That was kind of tedious and the kids could just draw their own in!
And here's the black cat kirigami design
(I think this one is my absolute favorite. Something about this looks really witchy and Halloween-y!)
And here's how I cut the folded up sheet of paper to create the design:
(And again, if you have younger kids, you could just get rid of the start portion. That would make the design a lot simpler!)
I hope you have fun trying out one or more of these designs out with the kids!
Happy magical making, friends!
