Recently the makers of Sculpey Clay sent us some colorful goodies to try out. The kids and I had a ton of fun one rainy afternoon crafting with friends. I'm currently infatuated with all things magical, so I helped my youngest make his very own mermaid necklace.
(Does anyone else think of Zoolander here? Mermaid? Oh wait. Merman. Merman!)
Let's Make Clay Mermaid Tail Necklaces!

Here's how we did it:
1. Work the Sculpey Clay until it's soft and pliable. Mix colors according to your liking.
(If you've never tried Sculpey clay before, it's like a grown-up Play-Doh. Super pigmented, it's easy to mold and shape into whatever your heart desires. The best part is that you can keep your creations too! Simply bake the clay according to the directions on the package.)
2. Use scissors to cut out a mermaid tail shape. Use a skewer to punch out a hole for the string and use a toothpick to draw scales and fin details.
3. Bake your tail according to directions on package.
4. String with yarn and an assortment of colorful beads!
