Materials Needed:
- Stick (Find one outside and peel off the outside bark to make sure bugs aren't inside)
- Scissors (Fabric scissors are best)
- Yarn (Thick yarn is awesome!!!)
- Masking Tape
- Various beads (Like these wooden ones)
Let's Make some Boho Yarn Wall Hangings!
1. Cut a piece of yarn double the length that you actually want. (When I did this with the kids, it helped to have a guide to measure our yarn against. My son used his stick and cut his yarn 2x the length of his stick.)
* Remember to err on the side of longer strands. You can always trim everything later, but you can't really add length.*
2. Fold the yarn in half and then wrap it around the stick and stick the other end of yarn through the loop created at the middle.
3. Keep adding more pieces of yarn! Try alternating thin and thick yarn. (I especially like the thick yarn because it covers more of the stick and also adds a fun texture to the project.)
I absolutely adore the white yarn. It's super lovely and thick!
4. Add more textures by braiding some strands of yarn or adding beads. (Tie a piece of masking tape around the end of the yarn so that the beads will slide easily on.) Be sure to tie double knots to your beaded strands and braided strands.
5. When you're done, trim the bottom edge with fabric scissors. (I used masking tape to hold down my yarn strands.)
6. When you're done, tie a strand of yarn to both ends of your stick to hang your yarn decor up!
