These past weeks, I've felt moments of sadness, cabin fever, fear, joy, frustration, and also hope. (Oftentimes, all in the same day!) One of the good things about staying home is that the boys and I get a chance to craft and play more. It's nice having more relaxed schedules.
Inspired by Emily Dickinson and Embossing Bird's gorgeous IG feed, the kids and I took some strips of paper and folded them into a lovely flock of colorful birds. Here's how we made these cute crafts!
How to Make Super Easy Paper Strip Birds

1. Grap a strip of colored paper. (We just used our star stip paper.)
2. Tie the paper into a knot.
3. Cut both ends of your strip to create a tail and a face.
My preschooler wanted a whole bunch of birds, so I made him his own bird army. He dotted on the eyes.
My 3rd grader wanted to make 2 color birds, so he used 2 strips of paper instead of one. Then he folded them into a knot and cut out tails and heads.

It's so funny to craft with him. He really likes orderly crafts and I kinda just wing things.... *pun intended!*
