Ocean Search and Find Craft and Activity!
(Perfect for Preschoolers)
Materials Needed:
- A sheet of paper, pencil, and Sharpies (Or just print out my doodle here)
- Crayons
- Glass Baking Dish
- Smaller glass jar (Like baby food sized)
- Water
- Food Coloring
- Popsicle (or something to stir with)
Design Your Game:
1. Trace the bottom of your baking dish onto a sheet of paper and cut it out. (Alternatively, if you have a square baking dish, just use mine.)
2. Use your Sharpie marker and doodle a bunch of sea creatures in your traced shape.
3. Design a checklist for your child to find the different sea creatures.
4. Color with crayons or color pencils (so colors don't smear if they get wet)
5. Place your sheet underneath your baking dish.
6. Cover with colored water.
7. Use your tiny glass jar to find all your hidden sea creatures!
(We played the game twice. The second time, we made the water super dark and added some glitter.)
I hope you have fun designing and playing this game with your kids too! If you're looking for ways to extend this activity, you can also try making other different search and find scenes... like maybe space?
And if you have an older child, you could easily have the older child design the scene and have the younger child find the animals or objects.
