Cute Clay DIY Air Plant Troll Pots

Hi friends! Many apologies. It's been a long time since I last posted. Let's just say that the pandemic and other personal projects have really worn me out and I've found it difficult to find the time and energy to craft. 

One thing that I have done to get me through these difficult times is watching houseplant and succulent videos. I have no idea why, but seeing people talk about plants really soothes me.  So today I'm popping in to share these adorable Clay Air Plant Troll Pots that I recently made. They are adorable and hopefully, they'll brighten your day too!

How to Make DIY Clay Air Plant Troll Pots

Materials Needed

• Sculpey Clay
• Aluminum foil
• Baking Dish
• Toothpick
• Something to cover your work area 

Let's Make some Troll Pots!

1. Cover your work area (We usually use place a piece of colorful oil cloth on the table to protect it.)

2. Mold brown clay in your hands till you have a bowl shape. Then, add on nice chubby legs. 

Note: Make sure you make the bottom of legs pretty wide so that your troll pot can stand with an air plant on top. Otherwise, it won't balance and fall over. 

3. Add facial details + ears. 

Note: I also poked holes through the head because I thought I might be able to put a succulent cutting in the head, but had trouble with the weight distribution. So if you want to use a cutting in the head, make sure you make your troll's feet nice and wide so that it won't be so top-heavy and prone to falling over. Or, just make the feet shorter and your head bigger. 

4. Follow the directions on the packaging and bake your pot on a baking dish (Use a sheet of aluminum foil to cover the pan in case you want to use it later for baking food.)
