The series of butterfly crafts continues! I made these gorgeous painted butterflies with a couple of preschoolers last week and they had a lot of fun carefully painting all the accordion folds. Here's how we made them!
How to Make Painted Accordion Butterflies
Materials Needed:
- White Paper (Should be thicker than computer paper)
- Watercolors and brushes
- Piper Cleaners
- Scissors
- Stapler
Directions:
1. Cut a sheet of paper in half.
2. Accordion fold one half-sheet lengthwise and the other half-sheet horizontally.
3. Fold each accordion-folded sheet of paper and cut the edges like so:
4. Staple the two accordion-folded sheets together to create butterflies!
5. Grab your watercolors and paint away!
6. When your paint dries, wrap pipe cleaners around the center.
And you're all set!
