Looking for some fall activities and crafts to make with the kids? How about this super simple scarecrow craft? Use items around the house to make this craft that's fun for kids of all ages!
How to Make the Easiest Scarecrow Ever!
(With kids!)
Materials Needed:
- Rubberbands (Around 5)
- A shirt (We used 5T)
- A pair of pants (We used size 5T)
- A lot of Safety Pins (or a powerful stapler)
- A hat
- Gloves + Boots (We didn't use these, but you could!)
- Straw (or plastic bags) to fill the scarecrow
- Odds and Ends or Paint to create a face
- Bandana
- Glue gun
5. When you're done stuffing the body, cut out a square piece of fabric and stuff it with straw to create the head. Use a rubber band to keep the stuffing inside. (If you're not sure how big to cut the fabric, use a ball to estimate the size.)
6. Use heavy-duty staples or safety pins to attach your head to your body
7. Tie a bandana around the neck to hide your staples.
8. Staple or Safety pin a hat in place.
9. Hot glue on various bits to create a face. (Or paint with acrylic paint.)
10. Name your scarecrow! (Each kid got a chance to contribute to our scarecrow's name, so ours was Flower Fritz Strawberry Kama-Kama.)
Unlike a traditional scarecrow, this one won't stand. But it is still a fabulous fall craft to make with children.
Happy creating and connecting, friends!
