The other day I was cleaning out our old sand toys... when the thought hit me. Hey! These buckets would make great Trick-or-treat containers!

How to make Colorful Swing Streamers
Have you ever wanted to find the end of a rainbow? As a child, I believed in fairies and magic and would always try to find the pot of gold. While I know now that such a dream is impossible, I still wanted to bring some colorful St. Patrick's day magic to Chuck. So I created these lovely colorful swing streamers for him to use at the park!
This craft is perfect for using up any extra tissue paper you might have lying around. (And if you like tissue paper crafts, check out these easy tissue paper art and cherry blossom tissue paper flower crafts!)

2 DIY Duct Tape Bug Costumes
Looking for some last minute ideas for DIY Halloween Costumes? I've recently been embracing duct tape as a crafting material. So I tried using it to make 2 really easy eleventh hour Halloween Costumes for Chuck.
Why use duct tape instead of paint?
Before I got on this duct tape streak, I would have probably just painted these costumes. You can get some really neat and clean designs painted using freezer paper stencils. But, I really like the idea of using duct tape because you don't have to wait for paint to dry, AND, you can use the shirts over again for something else (which is a big plus in my book!)
Ok. Let's get making!

Duct Tape Daisy Flower Pens
I miss our old home. But, slowly, slowly we're growing to love living on the West Coast. The sunny weather really can't be beat. Oh yeah, that and the flowers. When we moved here a month ago there were flowers EVERYWHERE. Lovely colorful blossoms greeted us from neighbors' yards, in front of super markets, along the highway, near bus stops.... it was so beautiful. I think that's what inspired me to create these duct tape daisy flower pens. They're bright and cheerful and make writing really fun.

DIY Cardboard iPod Projector
I've been on a crapty DIY technology kick lately. A couple of weeks ago, I made this set of DIY Cardboard roll iPod Speakers. After making those speakers, I wondered if I could take the idea one step further. Could I somehow make an iPod projector out of everyday materials?
After searching online, I saw that others had some success with a creating a DIY iPod projector out of a cardboard box and magnifying glass. So, of course, I had to try it for myself.

Tin can stilts
What do you do if you're stuck at home all weekend?
That's the question we were faced with this weekend since we were all under the weather. Blech.
With a couple of empty cans, duct tape, scissors, and string, we made ourselves some tin can stilts. (I removed the labels and then washed and dried the empty cans. Then, hubby drilled two holes on each side of the can to fit the string through. I covered the bottoms and the holes with duct tape just to make sure that Chuck's fingers wouldn't get hurt on any scratchy edges. Then, we poked the strings through and tied them tight.)
The tiny tuna fish cans were for Chuck to try out. He still doesn't quite have the coordination to actually move the stilts by himself, but he seemed to enjoy trying and copying mama.
Tin can stilts one day.... real stilts the next? Maybe Chuck will be a circus performer when he grows up.....
Happy crapting!
