Last month when I was puttering around my container garden, I felt that something was missing. A garden decoration! Instead of purchasing something, I made this super easy upcycled fabric garland to add a bit of whimsy to the space. This craft was so quick and easy to make, the kids could certainly take charge of the project and make this easy and lovely garden decoration with you.

How to Make a Sculpey Clay Fairy Door
Do your kids love fairy crafts? My preschooler loves the idea of tiny magical people. And since we always have Sculpey clay lying around, I made him a very small clay fairy door. Isn't it sweet? It's now sitting at the base of our stairs and I love the idea of opening it to visit another tiny enchanted world!

Sidewalk Chalk Obstacle Course Ideas
Hi friends! How are you doing during the Quarantine? Are you looking for ways to get the kids out of the house? My boys miss seeing their friends, so we found a fun way to entertain ourselves (and possibly the other kids in the neighborhood too!) Last week, we pulled out our trusty sidewalk chalk and designed an easy chalk obstacle course. The boys enjoyed thinking up different activities to include, so I'm sharing it here today! This would be a super fun artsy outdoor activity for kids of all ages.

Rain, Flower, and Tree Paper Pull Crafts for Spring!
Last week I shared this really cute St. Patrick's Day rainbow paper pull craft on the blog. Since everyone seemed to enjoy that craft so much, I made these similarly adorable spring-themed paper pull crafts. So you can pull some animals into a tree, raindrops from a cloud, or animals on and off of flowers. Doodle your own images, or like last time, just print and use my doodles.

Easy, Pretty, Preschooler Fairy Houses
A couple of weeks ago, I hosted a playdate for some preschool-aged friends at the park. I love creating with kids, so I wanted to bring an easy, park-friendly, nature-inspired craft. These super easy cardboard fairy houses were perfect. There was very little prep and the kids loved looking for the items and making their own houses.

Squirt Squirt Ocean Art!
If there's anything in the world that will brighten up a preschooler's day.... it's water play. Water is seriously magical. Give a kid a bucket of water, a pool, a water gun, or a hose... and bam! Laughter and good times are bound to be in your future!
Today 4 other creative preschool bloggers and I are sharing some really easy and engaging water activities. You can find the entire list at the bottom of this post!
In our home, we've really loved making Ocean Crafts and rainy day process art. So I thought it would be fun to combine the two with this fun Ocean Process Art Activity! We got a chance to use a whole bunch of art materials (including water guns) to create some ocean-inspired artwork.

Fairy Tale Mad Libs
As a child I loved reading books. Now that we have Chuck, I'm so glad that he enjoys listening to stories too! This week's Creative Preschool Collaborator's theme is fairy tales. So be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see four other fun fairy tale related crafts and activities!
Now you know that I LOOOOVE me some crafts. But, this time I wanted to switch it up. Instead of doing a fairy tale related craft with Chuck, I thought it would be fun to do a joint-storytelling activity with him.

DIY Recycled Terrarium
Do you craft with cork? While I love making cardboard crafts, lately I've been trying to push myself a bit and try out new materials. Last weekend I picked up these funny shaped cork plugs at our local Art Scrap store because they reminded me of mushrooms. So I painted them, gave a couple to Chuck to play with, and placed one inside a lovely DIY Terrarium made from recycled materials.
I love the idea of creating small, beautiful, magical worlds. This would certainly be a wonderful fall craft for kids. Oooh, wouldn't they look lovely as kid-made Thanksgiving centerpieces too?
Ok! Let's put on our fairy wings and let's get making!

Easy DIY Kids Spider Costume
We really love reading and it's always fun to create crafts and activities to go along with our favorite books. Today I'm joining forces with other kid bloggers to present a Halloween Read and Play Blog hop! This means that today, over 25 kid bloggers are posting great activities and crafts to go along with Halloween themed books. (You can see links to all the great ideas at the bottom of the post!) We made a DIY spider costume for our post. It was inspired by a beloved book character, Splat the Cat!
Have you heard of the Splat the Cat Series? We love these books. For Halloween, we read Scaredy-Cat, Splat!
I don't want to ruin the story for you, so here's just a snippet to explain today's craft. Splat the Cat's initial costume gets ruined and his mom has to quickly whip up a homemade spider costume from socks and string.
I love the idea of making something from nothing, so we tried our hand at quickly whipping up a spider costume just like Splat the Cat's mom!

Marshmallow Peeps Play Dough
After celebrating many, many Easters.... I've realized something. I have a love-hate relationship with Peeps. On the one hand, they're just so cute and colorful. I want to pinch their squishy blobby cheeks. On the other hand, they're way too sweet and taste gross on their own. Blech! If you dislike the way they taste too, here's a fun activity to try with your uneaten sweets. Microwave them and turn them into some Marshmallow Peeps Play Dough.!
I found the original recipe from Tip Toe Fairy. The dough is fun to make, edible (although yuck, I still think it tastes way too sweet), and will certainly wow any kids at your Easter gathering. Keep reading to see how we made our Peeps Play Dough!

Make Eggshell dolls
During a recent trip to our library, I found a couple of old craft books showing how to create dolls from eggshells. I'd never seen this type of craft before, so I was super excited to try it out.
If you're like me, you have a thing for Matryoshka dolls... and fairy tales. (Random tangent time: As a kid I used to read tons and tons of fairy tales. Magical powers? Fairies? Elves? Yup. Yup. Yup. I loved it all. This love for fairy tales ended up morphing into a love of science fiction and fantasy novels later on... but I digress.)

I had fun making them... but I had way more fun decorating them. In my opinion, painting cute things is the best part about crafting.
